If you contact Karen Schaffer for career advice or counsel, the resulting conversation(s) will be held in confidence. Karen may use aspects of your story for an article or blog, but will not use identifiable details without your expressed consent.

Terms of Service

Karen Schaffer’s career coaching services are one-on-one coaching sessions via telephone. To assess her services to see if it’s a fit for you, Karen offers a half hour free coaching call (plus cost of the call if you are long distance) with no obligation to continue after that. During that coaching call Karen will assess your situation, offer some insight and then, if appropriate, suggest how she might work with you and the cost.

Once you’ve decided to go forward and confirmed a first appointment, payment will be due either on the day of the first appointment (if paying by credit card or Interact e-pay) or must be received by the first session (if paying by cheque). Credit card payments are processed using Internet Secure, a Canadian-based online secure merchant account and all major credit cards (VISA, Mastercard, AMEX) are accepted. Interact E-pay is a direct payment via your bank account, a service available to anyone who banks online with any of the major national banks.

The cost of long distance calls will be the responsibility of the client. As an alternative, Karen is available on Skype.

Payment is due in full at the end of the first Career Diagnostic and Resume Coaching Sessions. Payment schedules can be worked out for long term coaching arrangements; however there will still be a payment due at the first session.

Coaching sessions are non-refundable. Pre-paid, unused coaching sessions are transferable to a 3rd party for up to 6 months. Clients will be charged for missed appointments.

Karen Schaffer is not a recruiter or a labor market specialist and cannot “get” you a job. Career coaching with Karen Schaffer is personal, career-focused support during your career exploration that can get you over emotional, spiritual and circumstantial career hurdles and teach you alternative methods to explore new directions. Mostly, career coaching is a process to get to know yourself more deeply and find the work that fits with what you discover.
